Patriotic Popcorn
PATRIOTIC POPCORN WITH RED WHITE AND BLUE CHOCOLATE DRIZZLE
We’re patiently waiting for a warm spring in Cleveland, and an even warmer summer. When I think of summer it usually involves memories of July fourth.
You can definitely get ahead of the game with the easiest recipe you’ll probably ever make. Not joking.
If you’re like me, you want quick, tasty treats. Any food really, I want it simple! Heinen’s actually has their own branded popped pop corn, and it’s delish. What could make this even more special? Adding melted chocolate drizzle to it of course! I also added some patriotic colored sprinkles for the topping as well.
The candy melt discs do melt VERY quickly and can harden in minutes, so it’s perfect to drizzle over the popcorn. Once it’s drizzled, you can shake it around in a large bowl or with your hands give it a toss and the chocolate does stick to the popcorn. You can probably even make ball clusters!
PATRIOTIC POPCORN RECIPE
Ingredients
Heinen’s popped pop corn bag(s)
1 bag, Wilton’s white candy melts
red and blue food dye
red and blue sprinkles
Instructions
In a double broiler, or in the microwave, follow candy melt bag instructions to melt the chocolate.
Once melted, quickly add in 2 different bowls, half the chocolate in each.
Stir in the red dye in one bowl, and blue in the other, using separate whisks to stir in the colors in each bowl quickly.
Once fully mixed in, drizzle as wanted all over the popcorn with both colors, one color at a time.
If you want to add sprinkles, add the sprinkles in here.
You can toss the popcorn to get more of a dispersed placement of melted chocolate over the popcorn before putting in serving bowls.
