Pulled Pork & Peaches Pizza
BBQ PULLED PORK PIZZA WITH PEACHES AND BASIL
Ever had a sweet and savory pizza? It’s one of my favorite styles. I’m not a pineapple on my pizza kind of girl, but I know there are some people out there that love it, and they would love this!
Hear me out, you have to have the right amount of sweetness for a pizza like this to work. Cooked peaches with pulled pork in the oven before it goes on the pizza to bake, is a must, and it’s just the right amount of sweet flavor.
We try to be a little more healthy, and buy a pre-made cauliflower crust, and Heinen’s has a great one. It’s smaller, so it does cook faster as well. And don’t forget that Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce.
BBQ PULLED PORK PIZZA WITH PEACHES AND BASIL RECIPE
Pulled Pork Ingredients
Foil wrap to seal and bake the pork tenderloin
Heinen’s garlic and mustard marinated pork tenderloin
Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ Sauce - Hickory & Brown Sugar
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 honey
1/2 cup diced yellow onion
1 tablespoon salt and pepper
1 peach, sliced with skin left on, to add to pulled pork after you pull the meat to bake longer
Pizza Ingredients
1 pre-made store bought cauliflower crust, or homemade
1 cup shredded mozarella to add to pizza
1/2 cup goat cheese. chunks
1/2 cup chopped red onions
1/2 up shredded fresh basil
1 tablespoon red pepper flakes
Instructions
Set oven to 350°F.
Create a foil tray that you can seal, and add pork tenderloin first, then apple cider vinegar, onions, honey, bbq sauce and seasonings.
Seal the foil, and bake for 3 hours.
When ready, open, be careful of the steam, you will burn your hands if you leave it over the opening. Use 2 forks or whatever necessary to pull the pork. Mix in the bbq sauce mixture all around the pork and then add sliced peaches all over the pork. Reseal, not too tight, and bake for 15-20 minutes.
Remove pork and peaches from oven, and set oven to 400°F.
Construct your cauliflower crust pizza with a little more cheese (there should be some marinara sauce on the store bought, if you made it at home, add a little sauce) but not all of the cheese.
Start putting the amount of pulled pork you want, and layering the toppings you want as you see fit. They don’t have to be put on the pizza in a specific order. I just prefer to sprinkle in cheese every once in a while to push down loose ingredients. Make sure the peaches are spread out!
Bake your constructed pizza for 15 minutes or as your boxed crust says on the box.
I like to sprinkle honey on top before I eat it! Don’t forget that goat cheese, it’s TOO good!
