Hawaiian Pork Bites Bowl
SPICY PINEAPPLE GROUND PORK AND VEGETABLE BOWL WITH MANGO AND CREAM CILANTRO AVOCADO SAUCE
Buddha bowls and all bowls alike are always fun to eat. But you know what I’ve never tried and we now love? Ground pork sautéed in a spicy pineapple sauce with chili paste and mixed with rice, vegetables and fresh mangoes!
It’s packed with so much flavor, and the ground pork is fantastic. To top it off literally, we made a cilantro and lime based avocado cream sauce that really sets it to the next level.
SPICY PINEAPPLE GROUND PORK AND VEGETABLE BOWL WITH MANGO AND CREAM CILANTRO AVOCADO SAUCE RECIPE
Cilantro Avocado Cream Sauce Ingredients
1 avocado, chopped for blender
1/4 cup olive oil
1/8 cup water
1/2 cup cilantro
juice of 1 lime
1 tablespoon of honey
Ground Pork Ingredients
1 one pound package ground pork
1/2 cup roasted pineapple habanero sauce
2 tablespoons sambel alek chili sauce
1 tablespoon black pepper
1 teaspoon sea salt
Bowl Ingredients
1 cup cooked rice
handful mixed salad greens
sliced mango, thin
steamed edamame beans
sliced carrots
sliced cucumbers
Instructions
Start cooking your rice first so that it can be ready in time to assemble the bowls. I use a rice cooker, so it’s usually about 35 minutes.
Make your cilantro avocado cream sauce second. All you need to do is put all ingredients in a blender and mix!
On your stovetop, over medium heat, sauté your ground pork with seasoning first, then once browned, add in the roasted pineapple habanero sauce, and sambel alek chili sauce. This should only take about 8-10 minutes.
Time to assemble your bowls! They look best, and are easiest to eat when they are in sections. It doesn’t matter what they are, but you can mix bites with different sections with your fork! Don’t forget to add green onions on top if you want a bit of bite to the cilantro avocado cream sauce!
