APPLE CIDER PLUM SAKE SHOTS

It’s that time of year again. My favorite season. Fall is upon us! Since moving to Cleveland 3 years ago, I still can’t get enough of harvest season. There’s nothing like the foliage here, the orchards, the weather, the food, and of course cider.

I wanted to combine two drinks I love, but never had together before, and that’s apple cider and sake. You can do this hot or cold! The one’s I made for you today are cold, but since they are shot sized, warm would be so much fun, and for socially distanced and responsible holiday parties! Of course I get all my fresh produce from Heinen’s, and this is no exception for cider!

I use a mix of cinnamon and granulated sugar to dust the rims! Mixture amounts up to you!

APPLE CIDER PLUM SAKE RECIPE

Ingredients for gallon of drink

  • half gallon fresh apple cider

  • half gallon plum (or regular if you can’t find plum) sake

  • cinnamon and sugar to rim the glasses

Instructions

The portions are equal parts, so if you just want to make a few drinks, or shots, you can do this individually or pre-measured before hand if you want to boil for a hot drink.

Rim regular glasses, or shot glasses with a lemon wedge for wetness, and dip in a plate of cinnamon sugar to spread around rim.

Mix apple cider and plum sake together, serve hot or cold.

Pour into glasses or shot glasses.

If using regular glasses, you can add ice if cold, and apple slices to either the cold or warm drinks!
