Hi.

Welcome to my food blog.

I’m a Cajun cook in Cleveland, Ohio documenting my recipes, tips and food photography.

Salted Caramel And Fig Milkshake

SALTED CARAMEL AND FIG MILKSHAKE

If there’s one thing for certain, is this is definitely a milkshake summer.

I usually go for the weirder combinations when it comes to dessert, and I usually opt out for dairy and get a plant based dessert.

Heinens has an outstanding local dessert section and non-dairy. I used Cado avocado salted caramel ice cream and it’s absolutely delicious.

Ordinarily I am a sweets person, but to offset this seemingly sweet milkshake, I blended in figs and hazelnuts, and boy is that good. Heinens, if you’re local, had the FRESHEST figs I have ever seen last weekend, so I had to get a bag full.

SALTED CARAMEL AND FIG MILKSHAKE RECIPE

Ingredients

  • pint of Cado salted caramel ice cream

  • 1/3 cup french vanilla coconut creamer, or any creamer

  • 1/2 cup hazelnuts

  • 4 fresh figs, no skins, just spoon the fig meat out

  • 2 tablespoons almond butter

  • 1 cup of ice

  • 2 tablespoons coffee

Instructions

In a blender, place the hazelnuts and fig pieces with the creamer.

Blend on shake or smoothie mode until finely grated.

Add in the ice cream, almond butter and ice in that order.

Pour the coffee over the ice so that it melts it slightly.

Blend until desired texture is achieved.

I prefer mine real thick! Serve immediately.

This makes 1 large milkshake, or 2 smaller ones.
