Hi.

Welcome to my food blog.

Strawberry Kombucha Pina Colada

Strawberry Kombucha Pina Colada

STRAWBERRY KOMBUCHA PINA COLADAS

Looking for new drinks for the new year? A lot of people partake in dry January and these creamy drinks fall into this category.

Pina coladas are a fan favorite when it comes to rum or sweet cocktails, usually on vacation. But surely there’s no need to go on vacation to get this drink.

There are a lot of places that carry Health-Ade Kombucha, but of course I get mine at Heinen’s!

The twist on this dreamy colada is that in this new year we’re using kombucha. This bubbly gut-friendly treat mixes perfectly well with tropical fruit to give the perfect beverage. I’ve found a strawberry glow that works wonderfully with the frozen fruit used to make this drink.

You can’t have a pina colada without a fun garnish, and today we’ve got two! If you use agave nectar (or honey if you can’t find agave) to rim the glass of choice, and then use a hand blender to finely crush coconut flakes to sugar. Dip those agave-rimmed glasses into the fine coconut sugar, and you’ve got a fluffy, sugary rimmed colada glass!

For the top garnish, I used the fruit I put in the drink to blend, which is lime, strawberry and pineapple!

Cheers to the upcoming new year!
