Hi.

Welcome to my food blog.

I’m a Cajun cook in Cleveland, Ohio documenting my recipes, tips and food photography.

Boozy Holiday Eggnog

BOOZY HOLIDAY EGGNOG WITH CHOCOLATE LIQUEUR, RASPBERRY FRAMBOISE & CINNAMON SYRUP

It’s that time of year. When eggnog creeps into grocery stores. I did not love, at all, the classic holiday eggnogs. I really didn’t.

I know, you’re thinking, what did you like as a kid? But the point is, I like these things now. This Hartzler’s Dairy eggnog changed my opinion of eggnog. For one, I haven’t tried it since I was a kid, and what better way to reintroduce yourself to something than to shop local. Heinen’s carries it, and I was all about it.

Holidays are about family and friends. But this year, since 2020 is cancelled, it’s about booze. Just kidding. Kinda. I am not suggesting family get togethers. Quite the opposite this year. We’re heading into Thanksgiving and Christmas alone this year. It is what it is. Be safe, be smart, grab your immediate family or pets and make some eggnog cocktails!

I like a lovely peppermint chocolate bark with a creamy eggnog. Can’t go wrong with it.

Don’t forget that cinnamon syrup!

BOOZY HOLIDAY EGGNOG WITH CHOCOLATE LIQUEUR, RASPBERRY FRAMBOISE & CINNAMON SYRUP RECIPE

Ingredients + Instructions

  • 8 oz eggnog

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon syrup

  • 1 oz raspberry framboise

  • 1 oz Godiva chocolate liqueur

For cinnamon syrup, it’s just like making simple syrup: 1 part sugar, 1 part water, boil with 2 cinnamon sticks. Et voila, perfection to sip on and also to keep in the fridge for other uses. There’s nothing difficult here. Just mix these ingredients together and serve. I like cold eggnog, not warm.
